Resources for 2005-2006

Outline for 2005-2006

Computer Applications is designed to give students experience using computers to obtain, manipulate, and present information in an efficient and professional manner. During each marking period, students will complete work in a number of modules; some topics will be assigned, some will be left to the choice of the student.

Grading: Students will earn points for creating professional-looking and functioning documents.  The details of the documents will depend largely on the module in which the student is working and the projects the student is assigned or selects.

A typical assigned project that takes one day to complete will earn 5 points if well-done.  Students are expected to earn 200 points each marking period, and grades are based on the fraction of 200 points the student earns.  Students are encouraged to keep a spreadsheet to record progress during the marking period.

Modules: Introduction: Students will be aware of the systems they will use during the year.
  • computer systems
  • networks
  • troubleshooting
