Arts at West Rutland School:

At West Rutland School we have variety of fine arts courses, ranging from arts and crafts and painting to general arts and ceramics. WRS employs two art teachers, Mr. Wilson who teaches elementary and middle school art classes, and Mrs. Protivansky who teaches high school art class.

Each fall, art students make costumes and paintings to go along with the WRS marching band's entry in the Rutland Recreation Department's Halloween Parade.

The WRS art department also exhibits at an art show in the spring. The art show includes art work from our students and local artists.

The WRS art department has been collaborating with The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center to provide unique opportunites for high school students. In addition, WRS is involved with a project sponsered by Omya and in collaboration with the Chafee Art Center to integrate art into all content areas.
