Do I have to stay at Castleton during the institute?
No. Residency at the college is not necessary. The institute is scheduled to run from 8:30 until 4:30 on each day except Wednesday when the institute runs until 6:00 and includes dinner. Participants may stay in a CSC dorm room; the fee for the week will be $80.00 (in addition to tuition). Please contact Joe Bowen if you plan to stay in the CSC dorms.

What about earning the middle level endorsement?
The syllabi for three institute strands (Developmental Nature and Learning Needs of Early Adolescents, Organizing for Learning, and Curriculum and Embedded Literacy) are written to address specific competencies necessary for obtaining that endorsement. Those with questions regarding the status of their progress towards that endorsement or their application are directed to the Vermont Department of Education.
